This page explains how Chef at Home Aruba (www.chefathomearuba.com) uses the personal data you send us through the booking form, by email or on WhatsApp. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Antonio Iannone, who operates Chef at Home Aruba.

Write to us at any time about anything in this policy.
What data we collect
Through the booking form:
- name, email address and phone number;
- the service and menu you are interested in, the date and the number of guests;
- the ages of children, your location and any note you add;
- allergies and dietary needs, if you enter them. This can be health information.
Our hosting provider also keeps technical logs of visits to the site, which include your IP address.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To answer your request and prepare a quote or a booking. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To prepare menus that are safe for your guests. Allergy and dietary information is used only for this purpose, and only with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time.
- To meet tax and accounting rules if you become a customer. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To keep the site secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use your data for newsletters or advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who receives your data
- Our team in Aruba, who handle bookings and prepare the food.
- Aruba S.p.A., which hosts the website and provides the email service.
- Google, because booking requests also arrive in a Gmail mailbox.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you contact us there.
These providers act on our behalf or under their own terms. We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Our team works in Aruba, which is outside the EEA, and some of our providers may process data outside the EEA as well. Where this happens we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Requests that do not become a booking: deleted within 12 months.
- Allergy and dietary information: deleted within 12 months of your request or of your last booking.
- Customer records needed for invoices and taxes: for the period the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to its use and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to info@thefoodcons.com.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or the authority in your own country.
Is giving us your data compulsory?
No. But without your name and a way to reach you, we cannot answer your request. Allergy information is optional, and we use it only if you give it and consent.
Cookies and third parties
This site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising and has no analytics. Its fonts are served from our own hosting, not from third parties. The links to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp lead to other sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
